FlashDisk® High-Performance Storage Extends Connectivity
FX Series Adds 10Gb & 1Gb iSCSI, and New Hybrid Options
Billerica, MA. July 16, 2013. Winchester Systems Inc., a leading data storage solutions provider, today announced new connectivity options available with its FlashDisk high-performance storage arrays. In addition to 8Gb Fibre Channel and 6Gb SAS host-port connections, FlashDisk FX now offers connectivity via 10-Gigabit and 1-Gigabit iSCSI, as well as simultaneous access via combinations of host interconnects.
Because of their purpose-built modular design, FlashDisk systems can be tailored to meet specific infrastructure-project performance, capacity and connectivity needs. Each hot-swappable controller module plugs into the back of a purpose-built storage shelf and presents up to 4 Fibre Channel, 4 SAS, or 6 iSCSI host ports—and numerous combinations thereof.
Plugging two controllers into the same shelf creates an active-active redundant configuration, eliminating single points of failure—anddoubling the number of active host ports (8 FC/SAS, 12 iSCSI), further enhancing performance. This modular approach also enables entry-level FlashDisk systems to deliver the same top-end performance as their large-scale siblings.
Winchester Systems has been delivering high performance systems for over 30 years and has accumulated a wealth of expertise on I/O performance and data availability. The company offers to collaboratively design an optimized IT infrastructure for customers—at no cost or obligation. Customers pay only for the equipment they buy.
