Winchester Systems Inc. announced that its lines of FlashDisk RAID Disk Arrays for SAN storage and FlashNAS ZFS for NAS now offer 8TB HDDs. With 8TB disks, the FlashDisk RAID and FlashNAS ZFS are for big data applications including file servers, private cloud storage, DR sites, local disk-to-disk backup, security and surveillance video, PACS medical imaging and archiving, image libraries, media distribution, broadcast, tape and robotics replacement.

The ZFS ZX-2U12 is a slimmer version of its 3U cousin, but packs all of the same functionality: hot swappable dual-redundant controllers, unlimited snapshots, remote replication, SSD caching, compression, self-healing data, NDMP support and WORM folders. The 3U system, formerly known as FlashNAS ZFS 3400, has been renamed as FlashNAS ZFS ZX-3U16.
